ATTACH-Manchester is a partnership between Justine Giuffra and Lisa Williams set up to develop and deliver support and services to developmentally traumatised children and their families, recognising the commitment and expertise of parents and carers, and beginning to bridge the gaps in service provision for children with very complex needs and where the families are in crisis or at risk of disruption.
Our aim is to create a one-stop shop in Manchester for adoptive, kinship and foster families through childhood and into adulthood, continuously developing expertise and knowledge in partnership with professionals, parents, carers and young people on a model that can be reproduced in other cities and regions of the UK.
Our ultimate mission is to enable developmentally traumatised children to remain in their families, be successful in education and have a positive future, through therapeutic work and the creation of peer support networks for parents and young people.
Our approach is relationship based, using therapeutic approaches developed specifically for developmentally traumatised children and their families.
